
Leslie Shane Bernstein has been designing for Theatre, Film, Television and Opera for 25 years in New York City and Regionally.
Her recent Off Broadway work includes: Little Rock (Sheen Center), Wringer (City Center II), Band Of Angels, Wanda’s Monster (Mint Theater), Interstellar Cinderella, Young Charles Dickens and Ballerina Swan’s Nutcracker (Theater Row) Please Bring Balloons and Love That Dog (A.R.T NY)
Regionally, Leslie has had the honor of designing Godspell (Syracuse Stage), The Opposite of Sex (The Magic Theatre; co-design with the legendary Pat Fields), Master Harold and the Boys (Portland Stage), Intimate Apparel and It Happened in Little Rock (Arkansas Repertory Theatre), The Harlem Nutcracker (The Wiltern LA & NJ PAC), History of the Word (Crossroads Theatre) Really Rosie (Purchase PAC; Directed by Maurice Sendek), 4000 miles, Stones in His Pockets, Talley’s Folly and Kunstler starring Jeff McCarthy (Hudson Stage Co.), Italian American Reconciliation (Emelin Theatre), West Side Story and Guys and Dolls) (Brevard Music Festival).
Some of her favorite Opera work includes:The Magic Flute (Arizona Opera), (Hawaii Opera), (Madison Opera) and coming this fall (Kentucky Opera).The Sorcerer (Purchase PAC), Carmen, A Little Night Music, Abduction from The Seraglio, La Cenerentola, Romeo et Juliet, & A Midsummer Nights Dream (Brevard Music Festival) Noya’s Fludde (St Bart’s Cathedral NYC) and La Boheme (Ash Lawn Opera)
Broadway Credits Include: Associate Costume Designer for Disgraced (Lyceum Theatre), Domesticated (LCT) and WIT (MTC).
Her Costume Design can be seen in the Feature Film, “The Opponent” (Lions Gate). She served as Assistant Costume Designer for “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee”, “Gods Behaving Badly” & “Hateship Loveship” and she was the Television Assistant Costume Designer for “Law & Order” (Original Series 2000-2010), “The Slap”, “Under the Dome”, “Unforgettable”, “Benjamin Franklin” and “All My Children”.
Leslie is a graduate of Purchase College and a member of 829 United Scenic Artists.
